The 3rd International Diabetes Summit -2019 was organized by Chellaram Diabetes Institute from 8th – 10th March 2019 at Hotel J W Marriot, Pune. The 3-day mega event comprised of a Pre-conference workshop on Management of the Diabetic Lower Limb Neuropathy, various workshops on Insulin, NAFLD etc, symposiums, scientific CME on digital diabetology and the scientific sessions covering diabetes complications and its management in day to day life.
The summit was a grand success with more than 2000 attendees. The conference was inaugurated by Dr Deelip Mhaisekar, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. About 50 speakers from India and 10 international faculty from US and Europe and 110 chairpersons contributed to the success of this event. Both the auditoriums and the workshop meeting rooms were jam packed with the participants who thronged the halls. The Maharashtra Medical Council had awarded 10 Credit Points to the program.
In addition, 44 young researchers from all over India had presented free papers (Oral presentations). For the Best Outstanding Research Paper presented, Chellaram Foundation had announced the “Chellaram Foundation Diabetes Research Award” which consisted of a medal and prize of Rs 100,000/-. The Chellaram Foundation had also announced a medal and a prize of Rs 10,000/- for the Best paper award in Clinical Science presentation and also a medal and a prize of Rs. 8000/- to the second best paper award in Clinical Science presentation. Special Recognition Certificates and Medals were also given away to 5 other researchers to encourage their spirit towards research. Industry sessions and industry workshops also got overwhelming response. 37 stalls too witnessed an excellent support of our corporate partners. The 3rd International Diabetes Summit was highly appreciated by the attending dignitaries and delegates from medical fraternity. The event was also covered widely in the print and media.
